I salute the people power of PP in sending DSAI to parliament once again.

I sincerely hope he will deliver on his promises of better governance and I sincerely hope he is the real mccoy in leading Msia towards a new era of growth, integrity and transparency in governance based on meritocracy and technocracy.

And I also hope he has plans to deal with the regime next move - whatever it be.

There is still the DNA Bill - and the sodomy case hanging over his head.

What if the AG Dept n Police n now the ACA is able to pin something on DSAI?

Whither Pakatan Rakyat then?

Whither the peoples' aspiration for a better tomorrow for Malaysia then?

While I am ecstatic that DSAI won at the same time I am also worry about the uncertainty.

But fight on we must. Must never give up no matter what.

Pak Lah and commuter train

It was reported on thestar online that "PM quietly takes public transport to experience commuters’ problems".

Thank you Mr PM for taking time off your hectic schedule to try to understand how much hassle common folks like us need to get thru when we take public transport to work.

But sir, what took you so long? And what measures will be taken to improve the public transport infrastructure? Or is it going to be another of your great promises that will not see the day - ?

Anyway u are right when you say this - “I just saw the plight of people using the trains to get to work every morning. They were jostling to get on board every time a train arrived. There appeared to be no system.

The thing is There never was any system for our public transportation! If there was - we will never have the need for Proton cars isnt it?

Our train or LRT system have always operated in silo since inception. It was widely documented in blogs about the not so integrated LRT Msians have becos the contract of building it has to be awarded to a few different parties whose sole interest is to recoup their investment not to facilate the creation of a world class transport infrastructure for the PEOPLE. - maybe u have not heard this one-eh.. since only today you "saw the plight of the people".... where have u been sir?

And yes Mr PM - you are right about the "there's no queue - " part. Apparently commuters in KL dont believe in queues. Not for train and not for bus.

But in train station and LRT which is easier to control - why cant they have station master who will ensure that commuter queue up? Why dont they put in educational materials and make periodic announcement over the air to ask patrons to queue?

But then again - have a look at this pix courtesy of thestar online. Isnt that the yellow line fellow passengers are stepping over? And our PM is smiling for the camera....

someone committed a crime - intentionally. Then due to some reason, maybe a fall-out with his partners he go a make a police report about the crime.

The police chose not to charge him for committing the crime and instead make him a key witness.

Ok - let's say all his partner is convicted and send to jail for that crime and this squealer got away scot free with the loot.

If this squealer is an enterprise individual he can go on and form another partnership with another group of criminals - plan and commit the crime - and then go to the police and make another report and ask to be a star witness so that he can get away scot free, get to keep his loot and continue his happy journey.

is that how it works? is that what the Home Minister is implying?

I read about criminals turning key witnesses esp cases from the mafia era and the HK triads - some of this so call key witnesses seemed to be actually moles planted by the government while some are real but whichever the case NONE of them took the initiative to walk in to the police station and report the crime which they actively participated!!

hmmm...

anyway, for wannabe key witnesses - dont try this in your homeland becos it only works in malaysia.

Why am I frustrated?

Indeed why am I frustrated every time I drive to work and home? I have this frustration since got knows when .. it has always been at the back of my mind but now I want to let it out.

1: Why does it flood every time it rains?
2: Why is the drain at the market constantly filled with rubbish?
3: Why is the road still full of pot holes and MRR is like a roller coaster with bumps up and down?
4: Why is car park so lacking that every one has to double and triple park and park EVERYwhere?
5: Why does motorist like to park at car bay?
6: What causes the constant breakdown of lorry at MRR2 that always causes super duper bumper to bumper jam?
7: Which freaking authority is in charge of making sure these lorries are fit to be on the road?
8: Why is there no proper bus lane in housing area? Buses are stopping everywhere and causing jam. why? why?
9: Why is buses allow to stop at MRR2?

10: WHY IS OUR LOCAL COUNCIL SO FREAKING INCOMPETENT!!!??????????????

No More Live Telecast in Parliament?

If PM AAB has his way then we will see the end of live parliamentary live telecast very soon - according to this Star Paper report: "PM: Cancel telecast in Dewan Rakyat"

He says that he is ashamed when ordinary people see what is happening in the Dewan and say that words like ‘Big Foot’ and ‘Big Monkey’ should not be used in the August house.”

My! Just listen to this dude.. where was he when some Opposition MP was called animal? and where was he when one retard MP call another bodoh bodoh bodoh and where was he when sexist remarks like the shorter the skirts the better or bocor every month was make previously?

And he think being called Big Foot or Big Monkey is not nice?

But then of course our PM has the distinct nickname of the sleeping or dozing PM - doesnt he? So it is no surprise to see him suddenly rose from his slumber just in time to catch those two words being hurled around the "august house"...

but isnt it lame to give such an excuse to discontinue a service to the rakyat? or is these BN blokes (the PM and his Infor Minister and whoever else is involved) suffering from acute inferiority complex that they cant stand to be scrutinized by the people who voted them in?

And I would like to ask Mr PM this. If you think the MPs have no decorum why did you pick them? On the other hand, if you think Opposition MPs have no decorum then isnt it good tactically for RTM (read: the BN Government) to telecast it live to show the rakyat how uncivilized there are?

Come on. Please. Please. Please.

Dont go back to the same mumbo jumble toxic spew of protecting the interest of the rakyat as if the Rakyat are ignoramuses like some of your Neanderthal era MP.

If your bunch of BN MPs are capable of holding intellectual debate and not degenerating into a shouting match of name calling then what is there to be afraid of in live telecasting the session?

You are their boss - just pull them into your room and have a word with them-la.

If you dont know what to do then here is some suggestion from me:

1: buy them books especially on the final point of debates. Make them read it and give them a test every week to ensure they understand.
2: recruit some boys and girls from our local university debates club to give them a free lesson on how not to degenerate into name calling when debating and how to focus on the issue on hand when debating.
3: join a toast master club - do a search on the internet for the nearest location.
4: send them to an EQ class so that they dont get so personal, affront and emotionally work up when issues are raised. they really have to differentiate between their quarrels with their wives/husband as against holding an intellectual discussion with fellow MPs.
5: Since you think that your MPs are all posturing for the camera please give them this old adage attributed to the great Abe Lincoln -'Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."

Parking in Pandan Area

I wonder when the local municipal can solve our car jam and parking woes. In Pandan Indah cars double park and triple park closing a 2 wide 2 lane road into a one lane road.

In Tmn Muda market cars are parked at every square inch available near the market. To add to the traffic big lorries are utilizing the same road to the detriment of people walking to the market.

Yet there dont seemed to be any initiative taken by the MPAJ in allocating more parking space or building multi-story car park to alleviate the problem.

Instead these MPAJ buggers will go round writing summons to car owners who park in legitimate lot because invariably the owner forgot or didnt feed the meter. But what astonishes me is that - the people who park illegally is not given a ticket as well!

And how about those cross eyes driver who park their car across two parking bays? And motorbikes who park every where and even at the center of a parking bay? I dont see these people being given a ticket!

If the municipal want to enforce rules and regulation it is only right that they enforce fairly. But before that, the municipal must also ensure that parking bays are adequate to cater to that area.

It just dont make sense for them to approve buildings of either commercial properties or housing properties without having sufficient parking bays for the tenants and visitors.

Sometimes it makes one wonder whether our councilors come from a different planet altogether otherwise how do you explain them not knowing such kind of problem exist and that nothing is done to address it??

Reasoning from the Neanderthals

"Muslims are sentenced in Syariah courts ... but we don't have the jurisdiction to sentence non-Muslims," Syariah Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Mohd Asri Abdullah said at a seminar on reviewing Syariah laws organised by Ikim and the department.

"Their non-Muslim partners can probably be sentenced in the civil courts, to be fair to both parties," he told reporters after closing the two-day seminar on Wednesday.

How in the world can you be "fair to both parties" when you are imposing your belief unto others???

Besides, when two persons are in love they are in love as human beings NOT as Muslim, Christian or Buddhist! or maybe u are different.

Jeez! What is wrong with this people? Which era did they come from? Reading such arrogant and moronic statement really pissed me off no end...argh......!!!!!!!

DAP - another cisis?

First it is the Chili Padi Fong Po Kuan who at the last minute of the PRU12 announce that she wont be recontesting her Batu Gajah constituency. A few frantic calls from the DAP leadership later she changed her mind.

Now DAP is faced with yet another dissatisfied member who after being voted in as the Buntong state rep wanted to resign because he felt that indians are not proportionally represented in the Perak state exco line up.

In Selangor - Sungai Pinang assemblyperson Teng Chang Khim a veteran opposition figure was left out of the Selangor state exco.

What's up DAP? Are you shutting out your own people voices? Is there a growing rumble in your fold?

Isnt there a mechanism in the DAP internal structure for disgruntled members especially the nominated people representative to voice their dissatisfaction to the central committee or even to the party secretary general or the party advisor directly thereby averting a public hue and cry over an issue which can be solve internally?

On the other hand, the character and integrity of these two DAP rep left a lot to be desired, with the exception of Teng who has shown his political maturity by not throwing a public tantrum despite not being nominated to the Selangor Exco and despite the article by RPK of malaysia-today castigating him for refusing to wear a songkok (which of course Teng clarified is not the case) to have an audience with the Selangor Sultan.

Of course, based on democratic principle anyone can publicly declared their stand on any issue but if you are a nominated people representative based on a certain political party backing is it right or even ethical to make a public announcement, in the process creating confusion to the public, before you have even exhausted all internal revenue to seek redress to your purported grievances?

Having said that I am not suggesting that we follow the autocratic way of the BN where dissent voices are punished - the fact that Fong and Siva can actually come out publicly and make outlandish announcement without consultation with the DAP leadership and is not being punished and reprimanded publicly is prove that DAP is practicing open dialogue within its rank and file or it could also mean that DAP has very weak control over its members.

However, i am saddened by the myopic view of the Buntong state rep because he is totally missing the forest from the trees!

For decades DAP have been touting Malaysian Malaysia so when this Buntong state rep says that he is unhappy because there is only 1 miserable indian chap in the State exco and who is incidentally not a Perakians we can immediately deduce 2 things from his protest.

1: Contrary to the PRU12 rakyat voting trend which vote across race this Buntong state rep is still living in the indian represent indian, malay represent malay, chinese represent chinese mentality. Like our comatose PM he is still unable to understand that at this point in time the rakyat want integrity, transparency and accountability from our people representative, from our government - the people have rejected race representation which have proven to be ineffective, which breeds corruption and created unnecessary friction among Malaysians.

2: He stand as a people representative not so much for the belief in serving the people nor does he share the DAP vision but more for his personal agenda - whatever it may be. Maybe I am just overly sensitive but the way he flip flop from suddenly crying to resign to not resigning is giving me a very bad impression of him as a people representative.

He should understand that whether a malay, chinese, indian, sikh, iban or muslim, christian, buddhist or a yogi is going to be in the state exco or be the MB is irrelevant SO LONG as that dude has integrity, accountability and is transparent in his / her dealings.

If the leadership of DAP can accept a PAS dude to be the MB that prove that they have accepted the people sentiment and have respected the people choice - why cant this Buntong Rep understand such glaring fact - that race representation is the least of the rakyat concern right now?

If you are a man of integrity and by the fact that the people have voted you - just do your job! If you think you only wanted to represent indians by all means join MIC or PPP or IPS or join the former anwar tennis partner new party. dei!!!

Our Law Enforcer Hard At Work - At Last

Was doing some shopping near Ampang Point yesterday noon when I noticed a patrol car parked outside Ampang Point Macdonald - an officer is busy writing summons to the 6 or so cars park illegally at the non parking zone by the road side.

wow! hard at work. Good to have such hard working police around.

Ampang Point is notorious for its lack of parking space and more notoriously known for the spit in your face motorist who park any where and any how they like. you see cars on the kerb, breaking the side walk tiles, you see car parking under the Tow Sign, you see cars parking with its tail blocking half the already small road.... yeah, MPAJ and the Traffic Police should go there a tow all this road blocker and fire hazard cars away.

But having said that, is there a plan to create more parking lots? Say built a multi storey car park? Though I dislike all these fler who park everywhere - to be fair - there is really a very huge shortage of parking bays. Why isnt the MPAJ looking into this?

On my way out from the Ampang Point car park - the patrol car is still there.. I notice a couple more police officer in a different patrol car near Habib Jewelery - their "all-purpose" summon book in hand dishing out summons to cars - again park at illegal and non marked zone.

Right after I passed them there is another patrol car near the road side facing the Pizza Hut - issuing summons to cars park near the road side. These cars should be towed and the car owners given a heft hefty fine because they are parking at a small two vehicle lane, effectively blocking one lane and creating a mini jam!

Kudos to the traffic police for being so hard working!

However, I am a bit surprise to see 2 patrol cars in the same area doing the same thing. Dont each of the patrol car have their assigned area to cover? Why are they concentrated at Ampang Point?

This is not good job distribution, not efficient nor effective in crime patrol.

What is 2 patrol car doing at the same area?? Is there something more to it?

City vs People of KL?

The web edition of the Sun reported that "City Hall plays vengeful politics" it says,

They claimed that two months before the elections, inspections by City Hall against hawkers and petty traders were lax.

"10 Opposition MPs claim that there has been a four-fold increase in snap inspections by City Hall officers, compared with two months before the elections," said Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun.

"After March 8, City Hall began to regularly summon hawkers for not having licences and confiscating their goods. In some parts of Kuala Lumpur, it has become a daily affair," he said.

He also pointed out that hawkers and petty traders in Kuala Lumpur are being victimised for petty offenses.

"The hawkers are being charged with small offences, like road obstruction with goods. As a result, their goods are all being confiscated." he said.

to which the City Hall reply,

City Hall director-general Datuk Salleh Yusup refuted the allegations, claiming the crackdown is part and parcel of City Hall enforcement.

"This is a regular and normal City Hall exercise. Enforcement is part of our job in managing KL. We want to keep KL clean, safe and tidy, and this is why we need to enforce the law," he said.

Well, the MP has said it - the hawkers plying their trade without licenses as well as having their goods which is obstructing the road being confiscated.

I mean, if the hawkers have not been following the law like having to have a license before they can trade why cant the authority concerned take action?

Maybe the question should be why DO the authority take action ONLY NOW and not before?

Have the authority suddenly discover that some of the hawkers are without licenses? It just dont make sense. The timing just dont make sense.

And as the City Hall is under the purview of the Federal Government it surely smells fishy... rotten fishy.

On the other hand, is there a problem with license application for the hawkers? Is there a problem with the existing law governing hawkers and eateries? Is the MP looking into this issues as well?

The City Hall DG says that "Enforcement is part of our job in managing KL. We want to keep KL clean, safe and tidy, and this is why we need to enforce the law," - well said.

Maybe, instead of picking on someone who is trying to earn a decent living working hard with their own capabilities, as compared to other individuals who are picked by political party and given a position, City Hall should also look into the paved side walk in the KL area - for safety sake.

Just take a stroll along Jln P. Ramlee from KLCC towards ShangriLa Hotel.

Notice how many obstacles you have to over come just to walk from one end to the other? There are the uneven tiles that you can trip over from, there are the broken tiles, there are the missing tiles, there are iron rod protruding from the ground, there are trees smack in the middle and yes the whole stress of the side walk is like a wave.. you can hardly find a flat area to walk on - and it is supposed to be a paved pedestrian side walk?

Talk about safe and tidy? come on-la....

Should Pak Lah Go?

Calls for Pak Lah to step down is on the rise.

But why and who is going to take over his place?

The rakyat was royally pissed with the government for their insensitivities, inaction towards corrupt officials, lack of transparency in projects tender etc just to name a few and that is why as Malaysian we have make out voices heard by denying BN their 2/3.

We have enough qualified opposition to watch over the BN goons now - why is the rush to remove Pak Lah?

The rakyat mandate has shown his ineffectiveness as the PM so it can be put to full use by the opposition to erode further his/BN grip on power until the next GE.

If Pak Lah goes - what can the next person who take over do differently? If that person is another megalomaniac autocratic person like our former PM then they will be endless
bickering.

Let it be guys. Pak Lah is ineffective, arrogant and despite having big ears is not listening to the people but we got what we wanted and that is deny BN a 2/3 so that the BN goons will need to have second thoughts about building big mansions with one eye closed or using the rakyat money to support billion ringgit projects without transparency or accountability.

Dont go just yet.

Malaysia 12thGE

Malaysians have spoken and in the process make history. The opposition won 5 states and now common people like myself would like to see if we will indeed be better represented.

While I am not expecting a transformation I do hope the new group of people representative who won in this GE to be able to debate on repressive and archaic law and repeal it.

Dont know how they are going to do it but make our current system more transparent and accountable for their doings.

phew! Really ... the dawn of a new era...and I hope, unlike 2004 that we malaysians have really made the right decision this time round.

Read the news from sun2surf ... As a father of 3 should i be scared? Or outraged? That our kids now cant even play by the sidewalk?

The police is of no help at all. Their standard reply - We are investigating...? How? When? Only when your own kids get kidnapped?

Most of the police time are spent on arresting innocence with legitimate concern like this feature in Malaysiakini - Two nights in a police lock-up as a result they are not able to perform their sworn duty of ensuring the people live in a safe environment.

Crime rate is rising, inflation is rising and the PM is saying everything is OK??????????? wtf!

Umno secretary-general Interview

I read about this interview from Rocky and visited Nuraina which has a link to the New Straits Times online that featured the interview.

As the home affairs minister, the umno sec-gen, a seasoned politician and a minister no less, yet his basic reasoning on replacing a Top Post, a MB of a state - make him sound so daft and hollow.

An excerpt from the interview:

Q: It is obvious that you feel that Shahidan should be out. Who would you want to be the replacement?
A: (Datuk Seri) Azmi Khalid. He's got a young wife.

Q: What has that got to do with anything?
A: She can promote Perlis well.

Q: Datuk Seri Azmi has also come out openly to comment on Perlis. Is there any reason to suggest that you and him are a tag-team against the MB?
A: We were childhood friends and classmates 55 years ago, we understand each other.

Q: It seems that your endorsement of Datuk Seri Azmi as the best candidate for Perlis MB is due to very personal reasons?
A: What better reason is there than to pick a friend whose capabilities you know so well.

I am no friend of the current Perlis MB and as a matter of fact I wrote about him in 2004 when he suggested to employ ex-gangster to be the law enforcer. So I am not writing this in support of him!

Anyway, let's look at this guys reasoning or lack of reasoning.

He wanted a MB to be removed -

Reason 1 : The current MB dont have a young wife
Reason 2 : His friend is eyeing for the job.

So there is no talk about the ineffectiveness or inefficiencies of the current MB - which is in most part of the world a yardstick on why a senior government need to vacate their post.

There is no talk about meritocracy or transparent campaigning/vetting of a possible candidate with integrity to take over the post except for the fact that he wanted his friend to take over.

HE HAS to announce that he WANT his FRIEND to TAKE OVER - isnt this Kleptocracy, Cronyism and Nepotism all in one...?

In line with his skewed reasoning on wanting his friend to take because he is a friend/crony - the most important aspect is that his friend has a young wife who can do marketing (and what is her background except being a TV presenter?) and therefore it should follow that her husband is a good candidate to replace the current MB.

Let's put it this way - if you are the MB of a state with the full state machinary at your disposal do you really need YOUR wife to do the marketing? Or is this guy suggesting that in "Perlis, a small state of 250,000 people" there is really no one more educated and qualified to do that??
